Due to the used truck seller only change new cabin paint, some cabin parts etc. customers are advised to maintain and check the power chain, wheel ends and tyres, air lines, electrical circuits and fasteners upon receipt of used truck. More details as follow:

 

1. Power Chain Maintenance (Engine, Gearbox, Axle)

 

a. Engine maintenance: Maintenance of the engine is mainly to change the oil and filter, diesel filter, air filter, as well as coolant. Check the generator, starter motor, check the belt for cracks, elasticity fit or not, check the tensioner pulley for abnormal wear or noise, etc.

 

 

b. Gearbox maintenance: Check clutch discs and replace gearbox fluid. Check the gearbox fluid for broken iron filings, if there are small pieces of iron filings, the gearbox needs to be disassembled for further inspection. Drive shaft needs to be greased, check the status of bearings, rotate with or without abnormal noise.

 

 

c. Drive axle maintenance: Replace the proper gear oil, check the old fluid for metal shavings, if there is any, it needs to be disassembled for inspection.

 

 

2. Wheel Ends and Tyres Maintenance

 

a. Wheel ends and tyres determine the safety of the vehicle and should not be ignored. All wheel ends must be dismantled for wheel protection, checking for burnt bearings and replacing damaged bearings; cleaning wheel ends and replacing grease.

 

b. Check the brake shoes, record the thickness of each shoe, estimate the time of use, and replace the brake pads that are about to wear out to the limit; clean the dust inside the wheel hub, and descale the rusted parts.

 

 

c. Most used truck tyres too old. It is necessary to check the remaining thickness of the tyre tread and pair up tyres with similar remaining thickness. Replace tyres that are badly damaged or worn to the limit. The tyre pressure should be uniform throughout the vehicle to ensure that the load carrying capacity of each axle is the same.

 

 

3. Air Circuit Maintenance

 

a. The inspection of the air circuit must start from the air compressor; the air storage cylinder must be exhausted regularly, check whether there is oil or water, and it is better to replace the air drying as well.

 

b. The fixing of the pipeline should be paid special attention to, must avoid interference between the pipeline and the vehicle, otherwise it is easy to cause wear and tear of the pipeline and leakage, all kinds of pneumatic valves must be checked to see if there is any stagnation or corrosion, and if the action is abnormal, it must be replaced, and the brake is not a small matter.

 

 

4. Electric Circuit Maintenance

 

a. First of all, check the battery status, if the battery capacity has been seriously reduced, the emergence of ignition difficulties and other symptoms, you can replace the battery in advance, to avoid the lack of electricity can not be ignited.

 

b. Secondly, we should check whether there is any additional electrical appliances and lamps, etc., and pay more attention to the wiring to avoid short-circuit and other situations. Then the wire pipework is wrapped to avoid long term vibration leading to wire wear through the skin and the car body lap. Finally, check the whole car electrical equipment and lights.

 

 

5. Fasteners Maintenance

 

The used truck's fasteners must be checked to avoid loosening causing bolts to fall off, resulting in parts falling off and affecting driving safety. Pay particular attention to tyre bolts, chassis bolts, suspension bolts, engine peripheral bolts, transmission peripheral bolts, and fasteners for important vehicle parts.
